🧭 Day 1 CPT Policy at Texas Wesleyan University
Texas Wesleyan University adheres to USCIS regulations to provide CPT authorization for eligible students. The internship/CPT experience is a crucial component of the applied MBA program, and participation is mandatory. CPT is authorized from the first day and continues throughout the entire two-year program without any breaks or interruptions.
- TXWES authorizes CPT on a semester basis only, with the end date adjusted to align with the academic term for which you are applying.
- Students have the option to obtain their CPT from 30 days before classes begin.
- There is flexibility in the application process, allowing students to apply for CPT in the middle of the semester.
- The standard processing time for CPT at TXWES is ten business days from the date of application submission.
- Students must have the proper work permission in the form of the CPT I-20 before starting employment.
- The employment is specific to the employer and dates listed on the I-20 form. If students wish to change employers, a new CPT application must be submitted. Additionally, any changes in employment status must be reported to the DSO within ten days.
- Maintaining good academic standing is crucial to remain eligible for CPT participation.

There are 3 semesters in a year for Day 1 CPT Programs at : Fall, Spring and Summer.
The MBA programs are 2-year, 6-semester, 36-credit programs. They are full-time hybrid programs. Each semester (14 weeks) is made up of two 7-week terms. Students will take one course (3 credits) per 7-week term. International students will attend an on-campus session one weekend per semester. This hybrid program adheres to all USCIS and SEVIS regulations for international students.
Onsite frequency: Students participate in two-day on-campus sessions, held on Saturday and Sunday, once each semester. For the remainder of the semester, classes are conducted online through the university's learning management system.

According to the TXWES catalog and graduate program policies, students who have previously completed graduate-level coursework may receive up to 6 hours of transfer credit. The Registrar will evaluate the official graduate-level transcript to identify equivalent coursework and approve transfer credits.

Upload all university transcripts even if a degree was not earned. Transcripts from a regionally accredited US university where a degree was earned must show the degree conferral or graduation date. Acceptance will be based on a conferred degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

English proficiency is demonstrated by applicants who have received a Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S.-based institution OR who have a minimum cumulative TOEFL score of 79 or greater OR an IELTS overall score of 6.5.

Individuals already in the USA must also include copies of their visa, most recent I-20, and I-94.
