Reminder
The term “Day 1 CPT universities” generally refers to institutions that allow eligible students to apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) beginning in their first semester of study, provided that the program includes an integrated practical component. While some schools may support early CPT access, approval is not guaranteed on the first day and depends on the timely and accurate submission of required documentation. CPT authorization typically takes 5 to 15 business days after the complete application is submitted and reviewed.

🧭 CPT Policy at Curry College
Curry College is dedicated to supporting Curricular Practical Training (CPT) for its F-1 visa students in line with USCIS regulations, specifically 8 CFR 214.2(f)(10)(i), which requires CPT to be an integral part of the established curriculum and directly related to the student’s major field of study.
CPT is authorized on a semester basis, with the end date aligned to the academic term for which the student applies. Students may apply for CPT mid-semester, and the standard processing time is ten business days from the date of application submission.
Employment may only begin once the student has received the CPT I-20, and it must be limited to the specific employer and dates listed on the form. Any changes in employment status, including a change of employer, require a new CPT application and must be reported to the DSO within ten days. Additionally, students must maintain good academic standing to remain eligible for CPT.
If you have more questions about CPT at WUST, please contact us immediately!
Curry College operates on a semester-based academic calendar, offering three semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer) across six terms annually for its Day 1 CPT programs. International students are required to enroll in a minimum of two courses each semester, including one online and one hybrid course. The hybrid course includes required on-site instruction, while the online course offers flexibility for students managing both academic and professional commitments.
Onsite Frequency:
F-1 students must attend an in-person residency once per term, held over a weekend at the Milton Campus. Each residency consists of a full schedule:
-
Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
-
Lunch & Speaker Session: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
-
Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Students are required to check in daily at the Student Center. Onsite attendance is mandatory, and failure to attend may result in termination of F-1 student status.
