University of the Potomac is dedicated to providing students with practical, hands-on experience that complements their academic studies. Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is an integral part of this commitment, offering international students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in their field of study while completing their degree.
- The University of the Potomac grants CPT exclusively on a semester-by-semester basis, meticulously aligning the program's conclusion with the academic period you're enrolled in.
- F1 Transfer Students have the option to obtain their CPT from their program start date.
- There is flexibility in the application process, allowing students to apply for CPT in the middle of the semester.
- Employer locations must fall within a 70-mile radius of the student's residential address.
- Students may work for up to 40 hours per week.
- To continue participating in CPT, it's essential to uphold a good academic standing.

The academic year for Day 1 CPT Programs at the University of the Potomac is structured around three semesters, with each semester comprising two back-to-back eight-week terms.
International students are required to enroll in a minimum of one courses (3 credits) per term.
Students can apply for a semester's leave after 2 consecutive semesters. Students may use CPT during the semester break
Onsite Frequency:
Students must participate in classroom sessions on campus every other week. It's imperative for international students to understand that regular attendance at these on-site classes is crucial; non-attendance may lead to the revocation of their F-1 student visa status.

Master Tuition
The tuition for master credit hours is normally $900 per credit hour. However, students who maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible for a special discounted rate of $585 per credit hour.
