Lamar University’s MBA program provides a comprehensive and integrated management education designed to support career advancement. The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning, enabling students to develop practical problem-solving skills in real-world business contexts. Students gain essential competencies in leadership, teamwork, ethical decision-making, and global business perspectives, preparing them to navigate today’s dynamic and competitive marketplace. The program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction earned by fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide.
For those with an undergraduate business degree, the Lamar MBA is a 30-hour program (6 leveling hours, 21 hours of core, and 9 hours in a concentration). Students with undergraduate degrees in business from AACSB-accredited colleges will be waived from both leveling courses. For students without any previous undergraduate study in business, the Lamar University MBA consists of 36 semester hours (12 courses). The program consists of two leveling courses, a required core of seven courses, and three elective courses that will allow a student to develop a concentration. One or both of the leveling courses may be waived based on previous academic credit.
Each long semester (Fall and Spring) is approximately 4 months in duration, while the Summer semester runs for about 2 months.

The term “Day 1 CPT universities” generally refers to institutions that allow eligible international students to apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) beginning in their first semester of study, provided that the program includes an integrated practical component. While some schools may support early CPT access, approval is not guaranteed on the first day and depends on the timely and accurate submission of required documentation. CPT authorization typically takes 5 to 15 business days after the complete application is submitted and reviewed.
