Day 1 CPT Course Structure
Executive Programs span three 15-week semesters annually, typically culminating in 5-6 semesters. Each semester comprises three courses. A mandatory three-day in-person class is held each semester, typically from Friday to Sunday. Non-attendance can jeopardize a student's F1 status.
The University doesn't mandate an on-campus workplace, allowing students to pursue CPT anywhere. Many opt to travel for their classes.
CPT FAQs
-
Is attendance compulsory for the three-day in-person courses?
Yes. Full attendance is mandatory, with no concessions for late arrivals or early departures. Non-compliance is deemed as complete absence for that semester. -
Consequences of missing an Onsite course?
Every in-person session is mandatory. A single session can be compensated for during the program. Missing a second session can lead to expulsion. Absentees are liable for a $300 fee for make-up classes and might need to furnish a valid reason for their absence. Make-up sessions should be concluded by semester-end, or it can lead to expulsion. -
Procedure for compensating missed classes?
The academic team will notify students about the make-up class details. Only one make-up session is permissible each semester. Non-attendance in a three-day compensatory session can lead to program expulsion and potential SEVIS termination.
Students in the UC Executive Program are required to take three courses per semester. Each academic year consists of three (3) semesters: fall, spring, and summer. Two courses each semester focus on specific course content, and the third class includes an applied learning practicum (CPT course) in which students apply what they have learned in the other two courses to real-world situations through work or internship experience.
CPT is an integral part of the program curriculum.
