1. USCIS Begins Announcing FY 2025 H1B Lottery Results

The wait is finally over. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has begun announcing the results for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 H1B visa lottery since March 27, 2024.

Anticipate continuous updates on the H1B Lottery in your myUSCIS account, with the final updates expected to be completed by April 1st.

This period is filled with anticipation for thousands of applicants and employers across the globe who have been eagerly waiting to find out if their applications have been selected in the lottery.

USCIS has recently released an update confirming the completion of the FY 2025 H-1B Cap Initial Registration Selection Process, with all H1B Lottery results now available on the MyUSCIS Portal.

2. How to Check Your H1B Lottery Results

It's important to note that H1B lottery results can't be checked individually by the applicants. Instead, the USCIS communicates the outcomes directly to the employers or the legal representatives who have filed the H1B petitions on behalf of the applicants. If you're an applicant, make sure to stay in close contact with your employer or attorney to get updates about your application status.

3. Current Status: Submitted?

While it might be nerve-wracking to see your status unchanged after April 1, it's a sign that there's still hope. The USCIS continues to select applications as needed to meet the annual quota, so don't lose faith. 

In FY 2023, USCIS conducted two rounds of the H1B Lottery, and in FY 2020, USCIS even held three rounds of the H1B Lottery.

 

4. Not Selected in the H1B Lottery? Here's What You Can Do

Not being selected in the H1B lottery can be disappointing, but it's not the end of the road. There are several alternatives to consider.

For instance, the O1 visa is an option for individuals with extraordinary abilities in their field. The L1 visa caters to intra-company transfers for employees in managerial positions or with specialized knowledge. The EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) is another pathway for professionals whose work benefits the U.S. significantly.
